Meet Victoria, the face behind Latitude Counselling

Victoria has worked, played, and lived in Saskatchewan her entire life. Despite a love of adventure and travel, she always finds her way back home. Currently, she is grateful to live in Southeast Saskatchewan, Treaty 4 Territory.

She is a Registered Social Worker. After graduating from university with her Bachelor of Social Work, Victoria started working as a school counsellor. Though she loves working with students and youth, Victoria quickly saw a need for private and accessible counselling services in the rural communities of Southeast Saskatchewan. She developed Latitude Counselling to meet that need.

Victoria uses a trauma-informed and client-centered approach to her counselling practice. In the past, she has supported people struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, grief, disordered eating, gender violence, sexuality, relationship conflict, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and more. Additionally, Victoria remains committed to supporting BIPOC, Queer, and Neurodiverse peoples.

When she’s not offering accessible counselling services, Victoria enjoys reading too much, singing way off-key, playing video games, and going on adventures with her husband and daughter.

Services & Investment

15-Minute Consultation | Free

Wondering if Victoria is the right counsellor for you? Book a complimentary 15-minute consultation and bring all your questions. Facilitated via video call, this is your opportunity to interview the counsellor and ensure that you feel confident booking your intake session.

Counselling Intake | $135 for 90min

Every new client must book an Individual Intake, before booking additional counselling sessions. Individual Intakes include reviewing counsellor/client confidentiality, information sharing, and developing rapport and trust. Depending on time, counsellor and client may discuss goal setting as well. To allow for enough time to complete intake, these sessions may run slightly longer than Individual Counselling sessions.

Session lasts up to 80-minutes, with an additional 10-minutes following the session for counsellor to complete case notes.

Counselling Session | $100 for 60min

Following the completion of the Individual Intake session and all associated paperwork, clients are invited to book sessions according to their needs. Together, the counsellor and client will discuss goals and strategies, then develop a case plan. Each session will be client directed, but the counsellor will provide activities, materials, and resources, if requested.

Sessions lasts up to 50-minutes, with an additional 10-minutes following the session for counsellor to complete case notes.

Treatment Referrals | Client Only, No Cost

When appropriate, the counsellor refers existing clients to agencies, programs, and services for treatment. Referrals are not given to prospective clients during their Intake or Initial session.

Facilitated Workshops | Prices Vary, Please Contact

Are you looking for a mental health professional to facilitate a group workshop for you or your organization? Please contact Victoria to discuss possible collaborations to meet those needs.

Currently, appointment availability is limited by a number of factors and if there are no appointments listed in the booking app, then that means Victoria’s availability is at capacity—yay for her, but not so much for you!

That being said, you sill have options:

  1. Book the next available appointment before someone else gets there first.
  2. Add your name to a waitlist in the Jane App, for last minute cancellations. Please note, should you secure a last minute cancellation spot, you will still be billed the full session fee.

The first session costs $135 for a 90 minute Intake Session. These sessions are mandatory for all new clients. All bookings following Intake cost $100 for a 60 minute Counselling Session currently. Taxes are included in our prices, so there are no unexpected costs!

Unless otherwise arranged prior to scheduled counselling session, all payments are due at the time of service. Clients will receive an invoice directly to their email.

Latitude Counselling currently accepts payment by credit card through your account on the Jane App booking portal or by e-transfer to victoria@thelatitudecounsellor.com.

If finances create a barrier for your access to services, please contact victoria@thelatitudecounsellor.com to discuss sliding scale payment options.

Think of this as a Pay What You Can option for clients experiencing service barriers due to financial limitations. Sliding Scale Payment Options provide the client and counsellor an opportunity to discuss an equitable solution to financial barriers. After contacting victoria@thelatitudecounsellor.com, Victoria will set up a free 15-minute consultation directly with the client to discuss a more affordable service fee.

Please note: Sliding Scale Payment Options are only provided in a limited capacity, while space is available. Please be mindful that assessing financial need may require clients to share information regarding their monthly income and health benefits.

Please contact your benefit plan provider to learn more about submitting your counselling receipt for reimbursement.

Victoria is currently applying to be registered as a service provider with Non-Insured Health Benefits. She will soon be able to accept and provide services to clients who qualify under the NIHB program. Check back often to see if she has been registered under NIHB.

Please Note: All clients intending to utilize NIHB must indicate that on their Client Intake and Consent form. To submit your bill to NIHB, Victoria will need clients to share their Treaty Status number on the form as well.

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for a up to 22-hours of fee-for-service mental health counselling in a 12-month time span. Additional hours in the same 12 month period may be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Victoria will be able to bill to NIHB once she’s completed the registration process. If you intend to utilize this program, please indicate that on your Self-Referral. To learn if you qualify for NIHB, how to apply, and more, visit the Government of Canada NIHB page.
